Miss Sharon is the Owner and Artistic Director of Fusion Dance Centre. Miss Sharon holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from Montclair State University and brings over 20 years of teaching experience into her classroom. As a Rhythm tap artist, Miss Sharon has performed as a Principle Dancer and soloist with the New Jersey Tap Ensemble, as well as in various productions with Broadway Dance Center and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Her teaching experience spans from local studios throughout the tri-state area, to master classes and conventions, to public school classrooms through the NJPAC Dance Academy. She has been featured on television programs and panel discussions speaking about the value of Arts Education, and has judged for numerous dance competitions and Arts organizations throughout America. Miss Sharon shares her love of dance with her three children, Giovanni, Jayda, and Aliya who can be seen "dancing" around the studio on a regular basis. She warmly welcomes all students and faculty to Fusion's sixteenth season of dance.
Miss Maggie started her dance training at age 7 in various studies throughout NJ and had the privilege of studying with instructors from the New Jersey Ballet, Temple University, Fr3sh dance crew, and Koresh Dance Company. Miss Maggie graduated cum laude from Muhlenberg College with a B.A. in Dance and Psychology. While attending Muhlenberg, she studied with legends such as Charlotte Boyd-Christensen, Nicole Wolcott, Charles O. Anderson and Dance TheatreX, Chuck Maldonado, and Nicholas Leichter. Maggie has also presented her own choreography at The Waterside Plaza Dance Festival in NY, the Lehigh Valley Undergraduate Women’s Studies Conference, and Muhlenberg’s Social Research Social Justice Conference. In addition to her experience as a Dance Instructor, Miss Maggie joins Fusion with an extensive background in Early Childhood Education. We are excited to have Miss Maggie back as a teacher, choreographer and Managing Director for her sixth year at Fusion!

Miss Mary has spent most of her days at Fusion for the past twelve years either taking class, rehearsing with the Dance Company, assistant teaching, helping in the office, or having a blast with our campers during the summer! Miss Mary begins her seventh season on Fusion’s faculty, where her energy and enthusiasm make her a favorite teacher among Fusion’s beginner students and younger competitive dancers.

Miss Maggie is a Fusion alumni who studied ballet, tap, jazz, and modern and performed with the Fusion Dance Company for four years. Miss Maggie not only has a passion for dance, but also a love for Music. She continues to release music, perform around the Tri-State Area, and travel for songwriting. She is excited to be a part of the Fusion Staff for her seventh year and for FDC’s sixteenth season of dance!

Miss Kristen has been dancing through the halls of Fusion Dance Centre since its opening in 2004! She has trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and modern dance. As a dedicated member of the Fusion Dance Company she participated in many competitions, Benefit Concerts, and community performances as an ensemble member and soloist. Starting at the age of thirteen she also worked with Fusion Faculty in the Assistant Teacher Training program. Miss Kristen is ecstatic to be back with the Fusion faculty and to continue inspiring the next generation of dancers for her third season!

Miss Jackie is an aspiring dancer and dance teacher. Growing up "Miss" Jackie trained and competed with Joann's School of Dance in Elizabeth and is a graduate of Rider University with a BA degree in dance and psychology. While studying at Rider, Jacquelyn was part of the Rider Dance Ensemble and the Rider Dance Team, she served on the board for the Rider Dance Ensemble and choreographed multiple pieces for festivals. In addition to dancing with the ensemble and participating in charity events, "Miss" Jackie performed with the Rider Dance Ensemble for all Basketball games including the 76ers vs. Kings game in Philly. The Rider Dance Team also competed in the MTV dance challenge, winning first place. Miss Jackie is planning to earn her master’s degree in dance and a certificate in dance movement therapy. Jacquelyn is passionate about dancing, loves teaching children and is excited to continue leading the Acrobatics & Cheerfunk programs!
Miss Sarah is a new member of the Fusion family working as apart of the office staff. Miss Sarah danced for 6 years and was a gymnast for 5! During all those years she was also involved in her community theater. She graduated from David Brearley High School in 2018 and is now pursuing a bachelor's degree in Nursing at Molloy College in Long Island, NY. Miss Sarah is very excited to get started with the new season!

Miss Taylor grew up in Sussex, New Jersey and started dancing with Dance Expression dance arts at the age of 5. She trained there for 13 years studying ballet, modern, and lyrical. Following her graduation in 2016, Taylor began attending Montclair State University and is a candidate for her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance with a second major in Communications and Media Arts. Taylor has studied under many established dancers and choreographers, including Lorraine Katterhenry, Maxine Steinman, Lynne Grossman, Nancy Lushington, Jessica DiMauro, and Joao Carvalho. Through her years at MSU, she has performed works by Jessica DiMauro and Frederick Earl Mosley such as Jessica DiMauro’s Sprinting with Scissors, Frederick Earl Mosley’s Our Better Angels, and Lorraine Katterhenry’s Calling Out The Bounce. She had the pleasure to perform for New York Times featured choreographer Abby Zbikowski in her 2019 premiered work On The Line. Taylor studied the O’Donnell modern technique her first year at MSU and decided to pursue this technique further. For the past three years she has trained with the O’Donnell company members in an intensive focusing on O’Donnell technique, pedagogy, and repertoire. In July 2019 Taylor received her certification for the O'Donnell technique and will continue May O’Donnell’s legacy. Miss Taylor is so grateful and excited to share her love of dance with Fusion Dance Center.

Miss Alyssa started dancing when she was 5 years old. She danced for 9 years right here at Fusion and was also a member of the Dance Company. Though she trained in many styles of dance, under the direction of Miss Sharon she really developed a love for tap in particular. Over the summers, she has attended Jersey Tap fest studying with renowned instructors such as Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards and Jason Samuels Smith, as well as Andrew Nemr’s Tap Into Freedom summer tap intensive in NYC. She was also a member of the University Dance Club while in college. Miss Alyssa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University. Miss Alyssa is an aspiring dentist and she is currently interviewing at dental schools across the country. Miss Alyssa is so excited to be back teaching and working in the office at Fusion this year!
Miss Jenn is a familiar Fusion-face, having worked at the studio during the first few years, and helping at Recital through all 14 seasons! She is excited to back for Fusion's best, most exciting season yet.
Miss Beverly, originally from Toronto Canada, was an RAD ballet trained, competitive dancer. She then moved to Maine to study on scholarship with world renowned Vaganova teacher and Andrei Bossov where she danced in Le Corsaire (Odalesque), Nutcracker (Spanish Hot Cocoa), Cinderella (Step Mother) and Hungarian Dances (featured pas). She then moved to New York City to study musical theater at American Musical and Dramatic Academy and along the way dancing with Dance Workshop, and Tressor Group. Miss Beverly starred as Phyllis in 42nd Street (Tuacahn Aphitheater) in Utah, she landed the Asian tour of 42nd Street (Revival) (Broadway Asia) and played in every major city in China and Korea. Other favorite credits include going Ape in Tarzan, moonlight tapping in Crazy 4 You, My Fair Lady, Can Can-ing for the Paris Review, she also was featured in the Off-Broadway show Relationships and Sometimes Love . Most recently, she Dance Captained Crazy 4 You debuting her skill as a tapperina- tap dancing in pointe shoes! As a choreographer her work has been used for music videos and performances for Michael V. Doane, Josh Triplett, Broadway Cares, Horseplay (Fringe NYC), and a musical adaptation of Macbeth (Off-Broadway). Fusion is so excited to have “Miss Bev” back for her fifth year as a member of Fusion’s faculty.
Miss Mariette is an award winning dance Instructor and choreographer from Jersey City, NJ. Mariette started competing at the age of 8 and became a full time instructor at 14. She’s performed in many musicals throughout her career, ANYTHING GOES just may be her favorite, in which she appeared as an ANGEL/ featured dancer/assistant choreographer. This summer, Mariette finished choreographing her second feature film. As a reference dancer for Bubble Guppies and Shimmer and Shine for the Nickelodeon Network, Mariette brings the animated characters to life. An actor as well, Mariette can most recently be seen in the feature film The Truth about Lies. From judging local talent competitions, choreographing events, after school programs to instructing pre-college programs, Mariette loves bringing her passion for dance to everyone!! Mariette holds a BA in Music Business with a concentration in Classical Voice from New Jersey City University. Mariette is very excited to kick off her 20th year as a dance educator as a new faculty member here at FDC!!
Miss Renea is a freelance artist originally from northern New Jersey. She earned her BFA in Dance and a minor in Psychology from Montclair State University. Renea has performed in works by Mark Morris, Christian Von Howard, Maxine Steinman, Sabatino Verlezza, Sidra Belle, Chalvar Monteiro, Daniel Padierna, and Stacey Tookey. Miss Renea was a scholarship student at Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts and attended Martha Graham’s Summer Intensive. She has interned for Gibney Dance Center. Miss Renea is now planning to immerse herself into the dance community as a performer and choreographer. She also intends to continue her interest as a freelance Movement Therapist for disabled children and elderly.
Mr AJ has 10 years of experience teaching dance, and is widely known for his compassionate and energetic teaching style, visually stimulating choreography, and anatomically precise technique. He takes his deep knowledge in the healing arts - being a currently working Reiki Master, a full-time graduate student of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and having previously worked as a licensed Massage Therapist - and dance to create classes that help dancers bring finesse to their technique, voice to their inner creative spirit, and calm self-awareness to their physical, emotional, and mental faculties. AJ has taught classes and workshops for students and teachers alike all over the Tri-State area, for dancers of all skill levels ages 5-70. He received his BFA in Dance from Montclair State University and has extensive experience in yoga and contortion. AJ also works as a professional visual artist selling angelically-inspired artwork.
Miss Lauren has been dancing since she was just 3 years old and has been with Fusion Dance Centre since they first opened their doors. She has trained in various styles of dance including Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acro, and Pointe. After being a member of the Fusion Dance Company, where she performed as a soloist and ensemble performer throughout many competitions, community events and benefit concerts, she decided to further her dance career at Montclair State University where she received a B.F.A degree in Dance. Since then she has performed in multiple works, choreographed by Jessie DiMauro, Fredrick E. Mosley, Doris Humphry, Charles Wideman, Sidra Bell, etc. and was given the opportunity to participate in the University Partners Showcase at the Joyce Theater under the Martha Graham Company. She is now going for her second degree for Emt/Paramedic and is very excited to be back at Fusion for her second year as a staff member. Dance has always been a huge part of her life and is eager to share her passion and inspire others to do what they love.
Miss Nancy is a New York City based Dancer and Actress. She is a trained Dance teacher. As a high school student she was given several opportunities in Concert dance, performing with BalletMet and the Syracuse Contemporary Dance Company. At 17 Nancy was accepted to the Pace University Commercial Dance Program and eagerly attended on an academic scholarship.
While in college Nancy worked with the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company as a Principal dancer in "Swing!” She was also a member of the American Swiss Ballet Company. There she was given the opportunity to work as a rehearsal assistant, running rehearsals with herself and company members. She worked as a Dance Captain to Larger than Life Productions' 2015 summer touring revue. Shortly thereafter she originated the role of Vershinin in "When Johnny Comes Marching Home," an original play, in Manhattan. Besides performing, Nancy is also passionate about teaching, and has received education in dance pedagogy. She apprenticed for 2 years with a Royal Academy of Dance and American Ballet Theatre certified teacher. Her degree in Commercial Dance also allowed opportunities to train in Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre pedagogy. She currently teaches all dance styles at multiple dance academies, private schools, and educational centers. She continues to train in dance herself as well as advance her education in pedagogy through workshops and classes; after being accepted to the American Ballet Theatre Teacher certificate program this year, Nancy will continue her education in dance pedagogy.
Miss Melanie is originally from Montreal, Canada, where she began dancing at an early age. At the age of 13, she was selected to study at the prestigious École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec, training alongside Les Grands Ballets Canadiens company members. Subsequently, Melanie went on to study and perform at Ballet Divertimento, the Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival, and the North Carolina School of the Arts under the tutelage of, among others, Howard Richard (Howard Richard Danse), Milton Meyers (Philadanco, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), James Truitte (Lester Horton Dancers, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), and Mark Morris (Mark Morris Dance Group). Immersed in the world of the visual arts in Manhattan by day, Miss Melanie is grateful to Fusion for allowing her to share and indulge in her passion for dance by night.
Miss Lisa is a classically trained ballet dancer and began her journey at the New Jersey School of Ballet with co-founders, American Ballet Theater’s Carolyn Clark and George Tomal, as well as the Kirov Ballet's Natasha Girshov. At 12, her training migrated to Princeton Ballet’s Career Track and Professional Training Program, primarily under the brilliant wings of American Repertory Ballet's former Artistic Director, Septime Webre, and Elisabeth Carroll, who was critically acclaimed by New York dance critics as "one of the best technicians of American ballet". As a five year member of the junior company, Princeton Ballet II, and Audree Estey/Ruth Pettit scholarship recipient, Lisa performed in many classical and contemporary ballets including Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet. She also trained at Pennsylvania Ballet's Rock School, the Joffrey Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet at NYU with Claude Bessey. Beyond dance, Lisa gravitates toward musical theater and had the great privilege of performing leading roles in Carousel (Louise) at NJPAC, Guys & Dolls (Miss Adelaide), Anything Goes (Reno Sweeney) and Cabaret (Sally Bowles). In 1998, she was offered a coveted spot in the BFA Dance program at Juilliard, as well as a contract with Webre's American Repertory Ballet. Lisa landed at Cornell University to pursue all of her passions, leading to a 16-year career on Wall Street. While living in NYC, she became a member of Calvin Wiley Dance Theater and Laura Ward’s Octavia Cup Dance Theater and performed on some of the city’s notable stages including the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, Choreographers' On Pointe at the Harkness Dance Center, Webster Hall, NYC SummerStage, Theater for the New City and CityParks Dance. Lisa recently “retired” from the finance industry to focus on her two dancing daughters, Amalia and Alexandra, and mini b-boy son, Troy. She has been teaching dance and indoor cycling at fitness behemoths, Equinox and Life Time Fitness, over the last ten years and is absolutely thrilled to join the Fusion faculty this season.
Miss Gabby is a native of Columbus, Ohio. She received her Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus certificate in 2005, and danced soloist roles in La Bayadare, Carmina Burana, Sleeping Beauty, and Pas de Quatre throughout her training. Gabrielle's senior year she trained at BalletMet COlumbus and performed with the professional company. Gabby joined YouthMet! and performed works by Alvin AIley such as Revelations and Satisfaction. Upon graduation, she moved to dance with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, performing with the company in Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, and Derek Dean's Alice in Wonderland. After moving to Houston, Miss Gabby began dancing Classical Chinese Dance with Dance of Asian America. In 2011, Ms. Grywalski made the move to New York City, where she is currently dancing with Ballet With a Twist and PMT Dance Company. She has danced with Terra Firma Dance Theatre, Ballet Neo, New York Couture Fashion Week, Broadway Sings for Pride, Derek Mitchell Dance Company, and has performed the halftime show at Madison Swuare Garden. Miss Gabby is very excited to share all of her knowledge about Ballet with Fusion Dance Centre!
Adam Tan is a Malaysian-born dancer who grew up in Knoxville, TN. Inspired by the movement of Hip Hop at an early age, Adam grew an interest in dance and started learning hip hop moves through watching music videos. At the age of 18, he immersed himself in his dance community in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He began taking classes, competed in numerous competitions, and auditioned for various artists. Realizing his passion for the art, Adam chose to pursue a career in dance and delved into training in many other styles such as contemporary, jazz, urban and even acrobatics. Adam competed with Australia’s Hip Hop Champions, The Collektive in 2012 and competed with Art In Motion who were Semi-finalists on Malaysia’s 8TV Showdown 2012. In addition, he has danced for artists like Mizz Nina, Reshmonu, Jay Park, and other big artists in Asia.
Today, Adam continues his career teaching classes around the world. He’s taught in countries like Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines as well as delved into the community wherever he was at. While in Knoxville, TN, he co-created Southern Sole Dance Crew and in Philadelphia, PA he trained and performed with Hood Nation Dance Company.
Miss Megan is a second-year student at Seton Hall School of Law and a new Associate Editor on the Seton Hall Law Review. As an undergraduate at Wake Forest University, she majored in Sociology and minored in Philosophy, Neuroscience, and Dance, and she graduated as a Knox Senior Dance Academic Scholar. While at Wake Forest, Miss Megan was a part of the theater and dance department as a performer in the sketch-comedy orientation show, a costume designer, and a performer and choreographer in the dance company. She was also a member of the Settin' the Groove tap club and served as president of the Club Gymnastics Team. One of her fondest dance memories at Wake Forest is participating in Dancing Together classes with people of all intellectual and developmental abilities and fellow Best Buddies International members, a club of which she served as Public Relations Manager. Before college, Miss Megan danced since she was 2 and at Fusion since its first year, where she was a member of the Dance Company for 8 years. In high school, she was also a member of Cranford High School's Dance Academy. She is super excited to be back for her second year teaching younger Fusion dancers!
Beginning his teaching career at the age of 15, Nick DiNicolangelo has become one of the most in-demand tap choreographers in the country. His efforts to incorporate aspects of other forms of dance while remaining true to classic rhythm and style has set his work apart from the rest. With his unique and energetic approach to teaching, Nick hopes to inspire students across the country to embrace tap dancing and explore its rich history and culture. Nick was a charter member and captain of the New Jersey Tap Ensemble as well as an original member of Mike Minery’s Tapaholics. Entering his sixth year on the Adrenaline Dance national tour, Nick feels blessed to be able to travel, teach, and choreograph for studios across the country. Nick hopes to inspire students across the country to embrace tap dancing and explore its rich history and culture. His summer intensive, Syn.Co.Pate brings many of the most talented tap dancers in the nation, every year.
Miss Charlotte has been dancing with Fusion for 15 years, and she has been part of the Assistant Teaching program for 5 years. While being at Fusion, she has joined the Dance Company and performed in many of Fusion’s Benefit Concerts. This year, Miss Charlotte will be graduating from Cranford High School. At Cranford, Miss Charlotte has been part of the Dance Academy for 3 years and has choreographed pieces for their Winter Concert. Miss Charlotte is thrilled to be apart of the Fusion faculty this year and hopes to help the new generation of dancers find their love for dance.
Miss Abby is a senior at Cranford High School and has been dancing for 15 years and is apart of the dance company as well as being an assistant teacher. Miss Abby has also volunteered at shining stars network and worked with special needs students of all ages for 8 years. This is her third year with the Cranford High School dance academy, and has choreographed dances for their winter concert. She has taken classes at both broadway dance center and Gibney dance. Miss Abby is so excited to start the new year and thrilled to be apart of the fusion faculty!
Miss Carey has been dancing for the past 25 years and has been teaching for the past 15. After training and competing in New Jersey for over 10 years, she attended Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she received her BA in dance. There she performed in various pieces with the Playhouse Dance Company including works by Ron Tassone, Keisha Lalama, and Kiki Lucas of Houston Metropolitan Dance Company. Upon graduation, Carey began teaching at various studios around New Jersey earning numerous choreography and performance awards. This is her 4th season at Fusion, and she is excited to be back at such an inspiring studio that cares so much about their students. While her specialty is Jazz, she loves all dance forms and enjoys watching her students learn and grow through the art of dance, while at the same time becoming a better and more confident person.
Mr Rubén began his training in Santa Fe New Mexico at 7 years old. He studied at the National Dance Institute and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet School. He attended The University of North Carolina School for the Arts and studied at East Street Ballet in Massachusetts. He has been a scholarship student at summer programs with Boston Ballet, ABT and The Rock School. In 2011 Rubén went to The Bolshoi Ballet Academy and received a certificate of completion after completing exams with top marks in every category with the Russian graduating class. Rubén has danced with New Jersey Ballet Company from 2012-2018. Rubén joined American Repertory Ballet in August of 2018.
Miss Gabby is a new member of Fusion and has just started her Sophomore year at Rutgers University majoring in Dance Education. She grew up in Staten Island, New York and is 19 years old. She is planning to get her BFA in Dance performance and her EDM (Masters) in Education. She has studied many different styles of dance and was apart of the Joffrey Ballet in High school. She has been dancing since she was 2 years old and started taking it seriously around 13. Not only was she a competition kid but she also was involved in a Hip Hop crew named Royal Thieves in the city. She is extremely excited to start at Fusion and can’t wait to push the kids to their fullest potential throughout the year.
Guest Choreographer & Substitute Instructor
Mr. Michael has been dancing since age 4, training in the styles of jazz, contemporary, tap, ballet, and acrobatics. He competed on Fusion’s Dance Company for 10 consecutive years. He recently graduated summa cum laude from Pepperdine University with a degree in Theatre Directing and a minor in Sociology. Mr. Michael performed and dance captained for multiple musical productions, while also actively choreographing for cabarets and extracurricular events. In his final year, Mr. Michael assumed the role of Assistant Director for his university’s resident dance company, Dance In Flight, completing a senior thesis on how the modern college experience shapes character and purpose in adulthood. Although he only teaches intermittently due to his vocation as musical theatre performer, Mr. Michael continues to enjoy his role as a guest choreographer and technique instructor for Fusion’s Company dancers.
