Miss Ligia started her ballet studies at the age of 5 at the Nadejda Dance Academy in Moscow, Russia. She graduated from the Maria Olenewa State Dance School and received her Dance Degree from Cândido Mendes College in Brazil. Miss Ligia then became a member of the dance company as a contemporary ballerina at the Univercidade college. She also took classes at the Renata Peçanha Ballroom Dancing Academy and later participated in their dance company for two years, dancing: tango, bolero, soltinho, rock, zouk, salsa, samba, forró, and rumba. Miss Ligia also participated as a character in the Mickey Shows by Disney Brasil and choreographed and was a Ballerina of CESGRANRIO Foundation and the Julietta de Serpa House of Art. Miss Ligia was the recipient of the VII Modern Dance Congress Award in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After completing the Professional Student Program at the José Limón School in New York in 2016 she has been performing as a guest for current shows and teaching throughout the tri-state area. In addition, she has become certified to teach the curriculum of Progressing Ballet Teachnique. Miss Ligia is a mom of two beautiful daughters, Laura and Marie, and she is so happy to return for her third season working with Fusion’s Ballet Program students.
