Dance Company Director

Miss Melissa returns to Fusion as an Instructor, Choreographer, and our Dance Company Director! She continues to grow as a dancer and artist and has over 20 years of training in tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and modern styles. As a member of the New Jersey Tap Ensemble she performed at numerous theatres including Lincoln Center, in a tribute to Duke Ellington. She has danced for Disney, Kmart, the New York Knicks and Liberty at Madison Square Garden, and has performed on the Queen Latifah show. Miss Melissa is also the Assistant Director of Nick DiNicolangelo’s Hands Down Tap Project, a tap company bringing together elite tappers from all over the U.S. She assists classes across the nation at Adrenaline Dance Convention and is one of the youngest faculty members at Syncopate Tap Intensive working among some of the industry’s top teachers and choreographers. She continues to teach all styles of dance and choreographs high scoring competitive routines throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Miss Melissa studied dance throughout college and earned a BA Dance Minor degree from Montclair State University. She also holds a BA in Psychology with a focus on Elementary Education and received her teaching certification for grades K-6. Miss Melissa hopes to make a positive impact on the dance world and students of Fusion!
